Udon Thani to Host Isaan's First International Horticultural Expo From November 1
Udon Thani opens Thailand’s latest international horticultural expo on November 1, 2026, running for 134 days until March 14, 2027 at the Nong Dae wetland site — the first time the event, recognised by the International Association of Horticultural Producers, has been held in the northeast. Organisers have tied the 134-day run to the province’s 134-year history.
The site’s three main attractions, unveiled ahead of opening, combine landscaped gardens and pavilions built around the wetland with exhibits from participating countries, following the format of past Thai expos in Chiang Mai and Nakhon Ratchasima. The event is aimed squarely at drawing domestic and international visitors to Isaan during the cooler, dry months from November through March, outside the region’s usual tourist season.
For anyone planning a visit to Udon Thani or nearby Nong Khai over the coming winter, the expo adds a fixed, months-long attraction to build a northeastern itinerary around, well outside the window of a typical one-off festival.
