SRT Opens 2026-27 'Floating Train' Season to Pa Sak Jolasid Dam

The State Railway of Thailand has opened bookings for its popular seasonal excursion trains to Pa Sak Jolasid Dam in Lopburi, running from November 2026 through January 2027, mostly on weekends plus a couple of December holidays. The trip is a long-standing favourite for the view it gives of a railway line partly submerged in the reservoir during this part of the year.

Travellers booking independently pay from 350 baht for a return trip in a third-class, fan-cooled carriage, or 650 baht for air-conditioned second class. SRT also sells all-inclusive packages with meals and extra stops, priced from 2,599 to 2,999 baht per person. Tickets can be booked up to 90 days before the travel date through the SRT D-Ticket website and app, at railway stations nationwide, or via the SRT hotline 1690. Because of that 90-day window, tickets for the later January dates open progressively rather than all at once, so travellers aiming for a specific weekend should check the D-Ticket system rather than wait.
