Weather

Current, forecast, historical, air quality and marine weather data by Open-Meteo.com, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Historical data is ERA5 reanalysis and does not change once fetched; other figures are refreshed periodically (see each page for its "Last updated" time).

By default this runs on Open-Meteo's free endpoints (non-commercial use). Setting OPEN_METEO_API_KEY (see DEPLOY.md) switches every weather endpoint — current, forecast, historical, air quality and marine — to its own commercial counterpart, required before this site can run ad-supported (spec section 5.4).

Historical daily variables used by the trip planner:

Currency

Exchange rates come from Frankfurter, a free API aggregating official rates from central banks and other official sources worldwide, refreshed once a day. Rates at a currency exchange or bank will differ from these.

Cost of living

Live, per-item cost-of-living data for Thai cities isn't available from any free API — unlike exchange rates, granular price baskets are commercial products (Numbeo, Expatistan and similar). Numbeo specifically is excluded from this site per its licence terms. Every item's price will carry its own source and lastVerified date once supplied; until then, the calculator shows "no price yet" and lets you enter your own estimate.
