Bangkok Art Biennale Returns October 29 Through February 2027

The fifth edition of the Bangkok Art Biennale opens October 29, 2026 and runs through February 28, 2027, under the theme “Angels & Mara.” As with past editions, the works are not confined to a single gallery: venues span historic temples including Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Wat Prayoon, along with Museum Siam, the National Museum Bangkok, the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, and shopping centres such as One Bangkok, centralwOrld and Siam Paragon.

Participating artists announced so far include the Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki and Leiko Ikemura, alongside both Thai and international names. The festival has run every two years since 2018 with Thai Beverage as a major backer, and TAT is promoting the four-month run as part of its push to draw visitors to the capital through the winter high season.

Anyone planning a Bangkok trip between late October and the end of February can build a day or two around the Biennale’s venues, many of which are free to enter and within walking distance of each other along the river and old city.
