Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC): how to fill it in, step by step
TDAC step by step, with screenshots (PDF)7 pages in Polish: every field explained, common mistakes, what to do if you make one. Free.Every foreign visitor needs a new TDAC for each entry. It is free, opens 72 hours before arrival and takes about ten minutes. What to prepare, what to type in each field, the mistakes that cause trouble at the border, and a Polish PDF guide with screenshots to download.
Since 1 May 2025 every non-Thai national entering Thailand fills in the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), whether arriving by air, by land or by sea. It replaced the paper arrival card, it is free, and on the official site it takes about ten minutes.
The short version
- Where: only on the official site, tdac.immigration.go.th, or in the Immigration Bureau’s own THIM app (released on 1 August 2026). The address ends in .go.th.
- When: no earlier than 3 days (72 hours) before you arrive. Filling it in on the day of arrival also works.
- Cost: none. If a site asks for a card payment, it is not the official TDAC site.
- How often: a new card for every entry, including a second arrival on the same trip or a return from a neighbouring country.
- Printing: not needed. Show the QR code on your phone together with your passport.
- Who does not need one: passengers in transit who do not pass through Thai passport control, and travellers entering on a border pass.
Watch out for look-alike sites
Several websites copy the look of the official form and charge a “service fee” for a form that is free, collecting passport data on the way. The official address ends in .go.th and never asks for card details.
What to have ready
- your passport;
- the number of the flight that lands in Thailand;
- your arrival date;
- the address of your first night’s accommodation (from the booking confirmation);
- an email address and phone number;
- the countries you have been to in the last 14 days, including transit countries.
The four parts of the form
1. Personal information. Type your names exactly as in the two machine-readable lines at the bottom of the passport photo page. Letters with accents are written there without them, and that is the form to use. Leave “Middle name” empty unless your passport shows one. Occupation is required (for example ENGINEER, TEACHER, RETIRED, STUDENT). Leave “Visa No.” empty if you enter visa-free. The phone number needs the country code.
2. Trip and accommodation. The arrival date is the day you pass Thai passport control, which matters on night flights, where it is the landing date, not the departure date. “Country where you boarded” is where your last flight took off: flying via Dubai means the United Arab Emirates. The flight number is the one landing in Thailand. Departure details are optional. The province, district and post code come from your first accommodation’s address.
3. Health declaration. List every country visited in the last 14 days, transit included, and answer the symptom questions truthfully.
4. Check and submit. Check name, passport number, nationality and date of birth on the preview: these cannot be changed later. After submitting, a PDF with your QR code arrives by email, usually within minutes (check spam). Download it straight from the confirmation page and keep a screenshot, because airport Wi-Fi is not guaranteed.
Travelling as a family or group
One submission can include several travellers (up to 10). Each person, children included, enters their own passport details and gets their own QR code. Anyone on a different flight or a different day files separately.
Mistakes and changes
Through the “Update” option on the official site you can correct the arrival date, flight number, accommodation, phone, email and health answers. Name, passport number, nationality and date of birth cannot be changed: if one of those is wrong, file a new card.
The mistakes that cause the most trouble:
- names with accents, or spelled differently from the passport;
- the departure date from home instead of the landing date in Thailand;
- the first flight’s number instead of the one that lands in Thailand;
- filling it in more than 3 days ahead, which the system does not accept;
- paying for the card on an unofficial site;
- no new card for the next entry.
Staying longer than a holiday?
The TDAC only records your arrival. How long you may stay depends on your passport and visa: the visa calculator shows it for your nationality, and the trip planner puts the TDAC, insurance, SIM card and payments on your pre-departure checklist.
This guide is based on publicly available information and is not an official document. Rules can change: check tdac.immigration.go.th before you travel.
