Dan Sai, Loei province
No confirmed date for an upcoming year yet — this event usually falls in June, see below.
The name means "spirits who follow people." Prince Vessandorn's return caused such joy that the noise woke the dead and the spirits came out of the forest to celebrate. The masks are made from palm leaf sheaths and rice steamer baskets. The date is set by a local medium, usually late June.
Meaning
A ghost-mask festival tied to the legend of Prince Vessandorn's joyful homecoming waking the dead, who came out of the forest to celebrate.
